Numeric Functions in Oracle

Numeric Functions are going to be work on only numeric values that is an integers and decimals. Oracle supports following numeric functions which we will learn one after the other.

1.ABS(): It is an absolute function which always give positive value to the user irrespective of numeric expression sign.

2. CEIL(): This function returns a value which is greater than or is equal to the given numeric expression.

3. FLOOR(): this function returns a value which is less than or is equal to the given expression.

4. ROUND(): This function roundup the nearest value of the given numeric expression.

5. SIGN(): this function returns +1 for positive values, “zero” for natural values and -1 for negative values.

6. POWER(): This function returns a power of given numeric expression. It is having two arguments first one is a base value and second one is the power value.

7. SQRT(): This function returns a square root of the given numeric expression value.

8. MOD(): This function returns a remainder of the given numeric expression. It is having two parameters first one is dividend and second one is divisor.
